Body Contouring Procedures
New York City plastic surgeon Tomer Avraham, MD offers a variety of body contouring options that can effectively enhance a patient’s figure while addressing common aesthetic concerns.
Abdominoplasty
An abdominoplasty—also called a tummy tuck—is a surgical procedure designed to recontour the abdomen for a firmer, tauter aesthetic. During surgery, Dr. Avraham can address weakened abdominal muscles, excess fat, and loose skin. Both women and men can benefit from a tummy tuck, and Dr. Avraham personalizes the procedure to help each person achieve their body goals.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a versatile procedure that breaks up and removes excess fat from targeted areas of the body, enhancing the contours of a patient’s physique. During a consultation, Dr. Avraham will assess an individual’s goals and develop a custom treatment plan. Liposuction can be performed on several different regions of the body, including the face, neck, abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, and arms.
Lipo360
Lipo 360 (also referred to as circumferential liposuction surgery) is a comprehensive form of traditional liposuction that addresses all angles of the body, 360 degrees around, to achieve a fully contoured appearance.
Mommy Makeover
A mommy makeover is a highly customizable procedure designed to help women restore their pre-pregnancy figure. Pregnancy and breastfeeding can result in unwanted physical changes, especially to the breasts and abdomen. A mommy makeover typically involves a tummy tuck and some form of cosmetic breast enhancement in order to give mothers back the more youthful physique they desire. Additional procedures—such as liposuction or facial enhancement—can also be performed to complement the rejuvenative results.
Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) & Buttock Augmentation
Buttock augmentation procedures add volume to the buttocks in order to enhance a patient’s overall proportions. The Brazilian Butt Lift—popularly referred to as a BBL—utilizes liposuction to extract unwanted fat from another region of a patient’s body before transferring it to the buttocks. The injected fat is then shaped and positioned in order to create desirable gluteal contours.
Body Contouring After Weight Loss
Losing a large amount of weight is a transformative achievement, but many patients find themselves frustrated by loose, hanging skin that obscures their slimmer figure. Excess skin can also present a barrier to daily functioning by resulting in rashes and difficulty in hygiene. Post-weight loss body contouring procedures address excess skin and fat in order to create more desirable contours and proportions. Common surgeries include panniculectomy, thigh lift, arm lift, bra roll excision, and circumferential body lift. After major weight loss, some patients consider breast reduction after weight loss to address heaviness, excess skin, and breast shape. Procedures may be combined to address multiple body parts. Dr. Avraham consults with each patient to determine which specific treatments are best suited to helping them reach their goals. Under some circumstances, medical insurance may help defray the cost of body contouring procedures after weight loss and bariatric surgery. Our experienced coordinators will help customize a plan that fits your needs and finances.
Laparoscopic Diastasis Recti Repair
Pregnancy and childbearing is a truly beautiful and rewarding experience, but one that also causes adverse physical changes. One of the most common changes associated with childbearing is diastasis recti, which is a total separation of abdominal muscles that results in physical deformity and excess skin in the abdominal area. In some cases, diastasis recti may cause physical symptoms like urinary incontinence, intense back pain, and sometimes even hernias. The good news, though, is that plastic surgeons can fix all this through a procedure referred to as laparoscopic diastasis recti repair.
